HOUSING CARE OPTIONS Assisted Living: Assisted Living are non-skilled facilities that provide assistance with medications and activities of daily living, such as laundry, bathing and dressing. Assisted Living is generally private pay, but HUD subsidizes some Assisted Living facilities. HOUSING GUIDE Independent Living: Typically designed as a studio, one-bedroom or two-bedroom rental apartments with full kitchens and private baths. Services generally include meal plans, transportation, wellness centers, housekeeping, laundry and maintenance. Generous amenities may include computers, swimming pool and social gathering halls. Rates are monthly and vary according to apartment size. Private pay and some insurance plans are accepted. 2018 Continuing Care Retirement Community: These facilities offer a campus-style environment that may include apartments, duplexes or condos with assisted living and/or skilled nursing care available. Residents purchase their condo and pay monthly maintenance fees. Payor sources accepted are private pay in the apartments/duplexes/condos and some insurance plans in Assisted Living. Skilled Nursing: Typically found in a nursing facility or a transitional care unit in the hospital. Daily rates generally include a furnished bedroom, private or shared bath, meals, transportation and all personal and nursing care. Payor sources typically accepted are Medicare, Medicaid, VA, some insurances and private pay. Lifecare: Must be a State of Michigan Registered Lifecare Retirement Community.
